Biografía

Dr. Dominguez is a full-time lead investigator at FIVI-IIS LaFe, the laboratory manager for the IVI Foundation Research Department, and the Head of the Reproductive Biology and Bioengineering in Human Reproduction at IIS La Fe Hospital.He completed his Bachelor’s degree in Biology at the University of Valencia in 1998 and obtained his doctorate degree “cum laude” in 2003 in the Pediatrics, Obstetrics, and Gynaecology Department of the University of Valencia School of Medicine. He pursued his post-doctoral training at the CNIC (Spanish National Center for Cardiovascular Research) and at the Hospital de la Princesa in Madrid, as well as at the Principe Felipe Research Center in Valencia.

As a researcher, his main focus is on studying the endometrium and the human embryo implantation process at both the transcriptomic and proteomic levels, while also developing new non-invasive aneuploidy diagnostic systems. Dr. Dominguez has published over 70 original peer-reviewed articles in leading reproductive journals (e.g., Human Reproduction, Fertility & Sterility, Human Reproduction Update, JCEM) and has written more than 15 book chapters on human embryo implantation and endometrial receptivity.

 

He has participated as a researcher in competitive projects both as an emerging researcher (Generalitat Valenciana) and as a lead researcher (FIS Projects, Miguel Servet contracts). He has also served as a regular editor for numerous specialized journals in the field of reproductive medicine and was a former Associate Editor at Human Reproduction, the leading and most influential journal in the field of Reproductive Medicine.

 

Dr. Dominguez has been involved in teaching since the early stages of his career, imparting postgraduate courses since 2003. He is currently the Coordinator of the Basic Research in Human Reproduction Module for the Master’s Degree in Biotechnology of Assisted Human Reproduction (formerly the doctoral program of the Pediatrics, Obstetrics, and Gynaecology Department of the University of Valencia School of Medicine), offered by ADEIT since 2001.

 

From 2009 until June 2011, Dr. Dominguez also served as Scientific Director at Embryomics, an organization dedicated to developing non-invasive aneuploidy diagnostic systems. He has received several awards for his research projects, including the ICIRA Award in 2009, the Spanish Fertility Society Award in 2000, and the Salud 2000 Foundation Award in 2004.
