Stem cells

The regenerative capacity of stem cells make them an intriguing possibility for variety of infertility related pathology.

The scientific team at IVI RMA Global has launched multiple studies in different areas of reproductive, as a result. Early data from a prospective study of patients with Asherman’s syndrome (or severe scarring of the uterine cavity) or endometrial atrophy (failed development of the uterine lining) demonstrated improved endometrial growth and reduced scar tissue after infusion with bone marrow derived stem cells. Additional studies have utilized injection of stem cells into the ovarian vasculature in an effort to reverse premature ovarian aging.

Furthermore, researchers are examining ways of isolating and culturing spermatogonial stem cells in vitro with the goal improving sperm yield in men with azoospermia.
