Biography

Alberto Vaiarelli is gynecologist Fertility Specialist and Medical Scientific Coordinator of Genera Roma. He is a member of executive board of Italian Society of Fertility, Sterility and Reproductive Medicine (SIFES-MR), currently National Secretary, as well as of Fondazione PMA Italia (Network of Italian IVF Unit).

He graduated from University of Messina and he attended a specialisation in Obstetrics and Gynaecology with subspecialist in Reproductive Medicine at the same University cum laude.

During his training he completed i) Clinical Clerkship at Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Main Center Hospital, School of Medicine of Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond (USA); ii) Research Fellow at Yale School of Medicine, Yale University; iii) Clinical Fellow at Centrum voor Reproductieve Geneeskunde (CRG or Centre for Reproductive Medicine) Universitair Ziekenhuis Brussel.

He obtained a Ph.D. and Post-doctor Fellow in Reproductive Endocrinology at University of Messina.

He got two Master the first in Andrology and Reproductive Medicine at University of Pavia; the second in Assisted Reproductive Technology at University of Urbino.

Recognition of the professional qualification of Medical Doctor, Specialist in Gynaecology and Obstetrics with Physiopathology of Human Reproduction in Belgium by “Le Ministre de la Santè publique” (INAMI:1-99426-06-340) and in Spain by Ministerio De Sanidad Servicios Sociales e Igualdad.

He is an active member of studies with National or International collaborations on various topics related to Reproductive Medicine (DuoStim, Management of Poor prognosis patients, Impact of male factors during IVF journey….)

He was a Medical Advisor for different providers involved in Reproductive Medicine training for healthcare professionals (Exemed Excellence in Medical Education, Scientific Seminar Foundation, FertySchool by Genera Education program)

He is author and co-authors of more than 81 original research papers and reviews published on peer-reviewed journals (indexed in Pubmed with more than 2300 citations and an h-index of 28 is ISI web of Science) and authored many chapters on national and international textbooks.

He was a member of editorial board of Journal of Assisted Reproduction and Genetics (JARG) and Frontiers in Endocrinology and he is Reviewer of many journals in the field of Reproductive Medicine

He is adjunct professor in different postgraduate options (Specialization course, Master’s and Doctoral degree) at different University (Pavia, Roma, Padova, Urbino, Bologna, Messina)

In 2018 he achieved the National Certification as Associate Professor and in 2021 as Full Professor in OB/GYN  06/H1 by the Ministry of Education, University and Research.

He was actively involved in the Medical Board of GeneraLife group, a network of >30 IVF clinics in 5 different countries in Europe, in drafting Internal Guidelines and in planning the scientific activity.

 

He is internationally recognized as an expert in Reproductive Medicine participating as a speaker and as a member of the scientific committee during several National and International Conference.

His scientific work is primarily focused on the management of poor prognosis patients and on the improvement of efficacy and efficiency in ART.
